Ruby Tuesday

Hey Everybody! Guess what today is? Yup! It's Ruby Tuesday! I thought I would show you a slideshow of OUR HOUSE which is a RED and white original Tudor built back in the 1930s. We've owned this house a long time and have kept it in its original form.

Because we've done that, we were awarded a few years ago the Queensmark by the Queens Historical Society. You can see the award mounted on the stone next to the front door. Inside we've kept the original stained wood mouldings and have not painted them. In 2001 we did add another room onto the back of the house above the garage but again we tried to stay with the original design. We now have 4 bedrooms.

Now enjoy the slideshow!

And if any of you have beautiful Autumn trees that are changing color to RED, yellow and orange, post them this week and/or next week if you like for "Ruby Tuesday in the Fall."

Here's a photo of a tree in my area:

<span class=

All the rest are still pretty green.

Fun slideshow. You really do have a beautiful house. Enjoy.

I'm always a few weeks behind from what you request; a few weeks ago you suggested a bit of red, and I've got smaller amounts of red in my posts today. It so happens I did post something about fall.

I like your colorful tree.

Dear teach Mary,
What a dream home you've got. I think it's only fair and square since you so love and take care of it.
Too many are just busy "modernizing,"
destroying valuable heritage.
Happy Ruby Tuesday

What a very cool historical home you have. I love the stone and the red trim! The side door is my favorite door!

Nice looking house! And perfect for celebrating Ruby Tuesday. ;-)

The Queensmark is beautiful. The Tudor style with the red trim is quite elegant. Many years ago, in Bayside, there were a number of apartments on our block of 42nd Ave with the same styling features, Classic styling indeed...

it's wonderful to live in a house with a history and great that you respect the original form and elements. Interesting post on the regions of the most brightly colouring autumn foliage ! Thanks again for RT !

Love your home. They just don't build homes with that kind of character anymore.

Thanks for sharing!

Mary, you are clever. Clever that is, to make that nice slide show of your home. It is very pretty.
Did you put the red paint on for Ruby Red?

I'm doing cars and trucks again, I like them. Real and toys are my fancy.

Hola, mah peeps! Yes, it's yet another °o° Disney-themed Ruby Tuesday over at my place. None of you are really shocked, are you? LOL!

And now, to go visiting - and Mary, I love your house! When I was growing up in Queens, we used to pass those Tudor-style homes on the way to my grandparents house (they were in Maspeth) and I always wanted to live in one! :D

I did do a fall post for you this week. Though we won't have peak color for some time, we do have a bit of red around.

You have a beautiful house. How wonderful too, that you are recognized as a historical house? Way cool!

I posted one up today...it's not a traditional ruby red post I don't think but the red I posted made me very happy. :) I'll go out to take prettier pictures for the weeks coming up.
