q-sfb has the right of it - we take so much for granted when using digital colour. B&W makes you think about the image more. Those shoes brought to mind my father whitening plimpsols when I was young.
ONE YEAR DAN AND I FOUND A PUMKIN THAT LOOKED LIKE A BUTT CRACK AND DRESSED IN FARMER OVERALLS AND A PLAD SHIRT AND STRW HAT AND THE FLAP IN BACK WAS OPEN SO PEOPLE COULD SEE HE WAS STOOPING DOWN....IT FACED OUR ECLESIASTICL LEADER'S FRONT DOOR

I love the black and white more and more. It forces you to really look at the objects and subjects in the photos.
This is great in black and white! I really need to try some.

I agree with Aileni. I love shooting in B&W especially photos of my kids.
Cute sneaker pic Mary!
This is a great subject to photograph in black and white.
I've always loved black and white, and monochrome sounds so much classier.
Cheers
That works well as a black and white.

Very good, Mary! I love what you do.
That is cool!!! And the idea of seeing all 'one color' photos for a day on the blogs is fantastic.
