I call this shot "Surreal Holiday."
What I did was shoot out my office window after dark at the house across the street. What you see are her Christmas lights (red, green and yellow) inside and outside; her silhouette as she decorates the tree inside; all the things on my desk reflected and blurred in the window.
I kinda like it, do you?

Spirit of Christmas is here, love it!
That's magical
wow, so sad I can't see tinker bell.... but I echo Rose.. its magical..
You have an interesting shot here, Mary. There's so much to see. :)
What a pity that the image is so noisy. But it is nice of the reflections in the glass. Here is my first contribution to Ruby Tuesday.
i like it too!! nice shot!!
That's quiet a "modern art" photo, lol ! very colorful !
Like looking at some modern art. You would not know what it is until the artist tell you. But since you did, I like the layers and the meanings attached to it.
Interesting red, Mary!
Love this kind of shot! Happy Monday!
Lots of stories being told here. I LIKE.
It's kind of a mish-mosh of the holidays and it works. Cool!
The lights look like magical sparks from a Disney movie.
I love this shot. :)
Great shot. Happy RT!
Great capture!
surreal yes but i hope it was REAL enjoyment
Magical!
I love your shot! It's full of magic and wonder!
A magical, multi-dimensional display of light and colour! Beautiful!
Thanks so much for hosting..
I do love CHRISTMAS...
Is it against your rules to have 2 Rubies in one week? I just linked with one post but I have another I would love to link with you for tomorrow.
hugs, bj
Mary....your visted link is black in color and I couldn't see my 1st link. I was logged into my own blog admin --so it looked black from 'visited link' So, if you'd like delete one of them since it's a double posted link. [#s44 and/or 45---Poinsettia with a twist]
I think your image is kinda eerie and ghostly...like you said, surreal.
I see pixie dust! :)

So many layers! :-)
Your BlogBlast for Peace post is now linked in my blog: Peace Bloggers Unite
Very festive. Nothing so happy as that from me during this difficult week I'm afraid, but I couldn't let it pass unmarked.
Black background and black text make it a bit difficult ;)
X-mas coming closer :)

I'm sure glad you explained this, I was squinting and scratching my head, too.
Cool effect. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I would squint at the tree lights to make them change effects.
A magical, mystical Christmas scene!
Very A-Peeling
I think it's very cool, Mary! Surreal shot for sure.
Happy Ruby Tuesday
i like this it really represents the hectic time of year very well
That is an incredible outcome. It's very artsy and yes magical! You did a great job Mary!
I do like it, but I never would have figured it out without your explanation. :)
It looks so dreamy and soft!
My link is not showing up either. Please do drop by. It's my daughter and her husband, a sergeant in the Guard at The Annual Saint Babara Christmas gala held in Corpus Christi.

I am excited to have something red to join in on the fun! Love the lights!!
Well, yes, I do like it. It's interesting, the colors and shapes are pleasing, and all coordinates well. I don't even mind the "noise" as it reminds me of paint speckles.
I kinda like it, too. Actually, more than kinda like it. ;-)
Paz

Love the pic!
I love the star look to the lights... almost like a reflecting spray of glitter thrown into the air and caught on camera!
Love the new look for the holidays. Very ruby in deed.
Mary there seems to be a probl;em with the link color. Some are showing up and some are not. I had a hard time finding out how to post a comment the link only shows up when a hover around. think it is a color code selection. Hope you can fix it.
Cool photo, Mary. 1st time doing RT. It will be fun visiting the other "red" sites. Thanks for hosting. I think I'm #128. blessings on your day.

A montage with one snap of the shutter! I like the effect of combining a reflection (or two) with the image on the other side of the glass.
