Yard Art on Thursdays

These are bee hives or bee boxes in the Queens Botanical Garden in N.Y.  They are fenced off but I walked right up to the fence where the bees were flying around. They didn't bother with me at all.

What do have for today?

Those are great Mary. I wonder if those bright colors attract the bees more...
I'll be on a plane to Dallas next Thursday so will miss Yard art!

Beekeeping is an interesting occupation (or hobby) but I prefer my yard art to be a little less high-maintenance. ;-)

Mary, your bee boxes are great. They are prettier than any of the others I have seen. There are quite a few in a field near where I live and they look like styrofoam coolers turned up side down.

Bright, lemony green bee hives! Perhaps the colour is a warning to us to stay back? Very interesting!
