Maxine on Saturday

THE RED HAT SOCIETY

Have you heard of the RED HAT Society?

We are the women in the red hats. We are the ones enjoying life to the fullest, no matter where we are or what we are doing! We are the mothers, daughters and grandmothers, of society. Some may ask, "What do you do?" The answer is... We do exactly what we wish to do.

We are a network. When you belong to the RHS you are a vital part of an enormous nurturing network of women approaching 50 or beyond, who are joining red-gloved hands and spreading the joy and companionship we find within and among the chapters.

We are Ladies! In the Red Hat Society, we throw most "rules" to the wind, but we still remember our manners. When we gather in public, we believe in being courteous to each other and to those around us. After all, we are ladies and members of a group like no other.

When I saw that blank Maxine above I thought of the RED HAT society and made up her sarcastic retort.

What do you have for Maxine on Saturday?

Red hat society is a new one on me, I don't think they have that here, but if they did, I'd be game to join!
I'm very impressed, Mary, that you put the text on the Maxine picture- I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

Aren't you witty and talented?! I am familiar with The Red Hat Society; that is a wonderful photo you posted. These groups are very big here in the South. :)

I'm sorry to say, I've not had any pleasant encounters with the Red Hat Society. The part about "When we gather in public, we believe in being courteous to each other and to those around us," is not how they represent themselves, at least here. They're noisy and boisterous and difficult to deal with, if there is more that one.

We have the Red Hat Society in Oz too but I've never felt any urge to join them!

The Red Hat Society is awesome! I saw a group of these feisty gals at a showing of "Menopause" and got a kick out of their red hats! My sister-in-law Cheri went to a Red Hat tea at the Brown Palace. She won't wear hats so got a huge pair of red glasses and popped them on top of her head! She said the restaurant was not pleased with her hat choice! LOL!

When I read the first Red Hat Ladies group was coming to our town, I suggested to my mother that she join. She did and has been having a great time. The only problem has been that she is constantly after me to join as well. Perhaps, I will one day.

My post is up and this week is all about Fashion.

Why would people in red hats enjoy life more than, for instance, people in purple hats? Strange, that.

I even know some hatless people, many of them bald or, like yours truly, balding, who enjoy life. Of course, no as much as the hirsute ones, but hats?
