Shadow Shot Sunday

On this day it was sunny and some beautiful shadows were thrown on all the houses we saw as we drove along Lighthouse Road in Sands Point, Long Island. At this point where I took these pictures we are as far North as we can go before the Long Island Sound.

The houses in this area cost multi-millions of dollars.

You can go on over to Hey Harriet and visit Tracy and other Shadow Shot Sunday participants.

Where there is much light, the shadow is deep

It looks so medieval, aided by the bare limbs of the trees and low key shadowy ambiance of the property!
Nice period sort of shot.

The mighty castle inspired home looks European and massive. Perhaps a fortress on the North Fork, I can imagine if this stood around the time of the Revolution, the Brit sailors wold have had to calculate if using their canon ammo would even work against such solidity...

Wow what a fancy neighborhood, Mary! That looks like a castle.

I'm wondering when this incredible mansion was built.

I see the weather was the same there last Saturday.

Those are lovely -- I thought it was going to be somewhere in Europe.

I am mesmerized by your header post, btw. Every time I come to your blog I almost forget to scroll down to see what I came to see. I keep imagining a story to go with that monk (?) who is standing in the doorway there.
