Looking at the Sky on Friday

I stepped outside this morning while it was snowing pretty heavily (it's stopped now; accumulation maybe one inch). The sky wasn't beautiful; it was the gray you see behind the bare branches of the young tree next to my house.

As I shot pictures the people passing in cars and trucks on the main street waved at me. They either thought I was having fun or that I was crazy... It doesn't matter to me - they were smiling.

Go see Tisha of Crazy Working Mom to see other participants.

Brrrrrrr! Now that's a chilly view to one such as me. As for making people smile (or even laugh) I always feel good about THAT ;-)

I've just had the same experience, Mary!
I've come in from photographing the SNOW!!!! we have here in Dublin, and framing snow-covered trees against dark sky, I got some funny and some friendly looks.
Your sky does look cold, but I suppose that's the price of snow.

Looks similar to our neck of the woods ~ snowy and chilly!

Happy 2010!

A gray sky offers its charms. The monochrome sky is the right backdrop to highlight the berries and branches. The sky offered no beauty but allowed that on the ground to truly stand out. So it works wonderfully. Like Patti, I wish yuu a happy 2010!
