Lady Mower

It's much safer to mow your lawn by hand.

Hazards most often associated with riding equipment are blade contact and loss of stability. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that 37,000 consumer injuries related to riding mower incidents were treated annually in hospital emergency rooms during 2003-2005.

Based on incidents reported to the Commission, an annual average of 95 deaths was attributed to riding mowers during 2001-2003. Fatal incidents have several common patterns: the machine tips over, the victim falls under or is run over by the machine (incidents involving young children are in this category), or the victim is thrown from or falls off the machine.

Our landlord uses an old-fashioned hand mower for our yard. It's both greener and safer. Great post!

I have a surprise for you on my blog.

Great post Mary. We alternate between a push mower and an electric mower...Hubby likes the exercise of the push mower and I have read it is better for the grass..Michelle

Mow the lawn by hand if it's small, if it's a huge lawn..**

Safe practice should be alright :)

I've received the postcard!! Thanks!!

I love your header. I wish I'd been paying attention when you were sending out post cards!

AND, this is the kind of lawn mower we have, and the kind I grew up with. Less maintenance, easier on the planet, and good exercise for the body!

statistics have proved there is one fatality every 100 years due to a person dying because he or she haad no lawn at all...can't eat the stuff, have to keep watering it and then blamby what happens then??????it GROWS SOME MORE....then what? you need to mow it except for that one person who dies because he doesn't have a lawn every 100 years...yes he dies over and over again every hundred years

MWM uses a flymo, the lawn isn't big enough for a ride on otherwise I'm sure he'd have one! LOL
