So dramatic! Love how the shadows seem to symbolic add a depth of sorrow to the beautiful statue! Just lovely!

I agree, beautiful statue. Lovely shot. The blue sky, the tree to the side, I love everything about it.

Cemetery tours fascinate me.

The placement of the shadows falling upon the statue makes for a very poignant image. Very moving and very beautiful.

Regarding your question about why I chose sepia for my shadow shot. I actually didn't. That's exactly how it came out because of the weird lighting in the gallery :)

So beautiful! The shadows are perfect. Love cemetary shadows - they are amazing!

Walking in a cemetary on a winter's day. I used to do this so much long ago. Always reading and wondering the stories behind the headstones.

This is beautiful Mary! You have really captured the essence of this statue.

I've been eyeing your posts for a few weeks now and I know I really must find an old cemetery and practice my photography skills. :)

What a beautiful graveside monument. The shadows really bring out the sculptural movement of Christ.

Wonderful choice for this weekend's Shadow Shot! How time flies ... Thanks for the birthday wishes. Sorry I've fallen behind. I'm hoping to catch up, but lately I've just not been at home much to log on to my computer. I'm not complaining ... just letting ya know what's up. Life is good! Yesterday at Small Reflections, I shared photos of the lovely RAINBOW that greeted me Monday morning ... but my Shadow Shot Sunday is at Happily Retired Gal. ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
