INAUGURATION UPDATE: Michelle Obama is wearing MIMOSA this morning! Take a look!
I KNOW IT'S A TERRIBLE PHOTO. I TOOK IT FROM THE TV.
I knew she was with it! And don't say it's just YELLOW! :)
I chose a couple of days ago to color my blog background Pantone's new color for 2009 -- MIMOSA

Mimosa Embodies Hopefulness and Reassurance in a Climate of Change
Pantone announced PANTONE® 14-0848 Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow, as the color of the year for 2009. In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow.
“The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation.”

Fabulous colour for this time of year.
It's so cheerful!
Also if you gently put pressure on the leaves they curl up one leaflet at a time, now that' my kind of touchy feely response.
Cheers
It's a lovely color, sort of butterscotchy.
How do you create a sticky post in Blogger? I've yet to figure that out.
I hate to say this... but when I was a child growing up in QUEENS VILLAGE of all places (LOL!), we had mimosa trees in our backyard and the blooms were PINK. Yes, PINK, very bright, almost MAGENTA. Is there more than one type of mimosa, I wonder? Hmmm....

Oh Teach! I LOVE this color! The sweater I'm wearing is this shade of yellow as well as the walls in my daughter's room. Warm, sunshiny and happy!
My puppet blog was that colour! Lovely, friendly and warm :O)
It's very pretty and oh so spring-y. I hope spring comes soon :o)

And doesn't The First Lady look so wonderful in the color Mimosa!!!
My daffodils are a shade of Mimosa also :o)
LOL! NOW I understand your comment about the First Lady's apparel up above! Yes... I would say it IS Mimosa!
AND I agree with Tink also... we HAVE mimosa trees in our yard - and the flowers ARE pink! LOL!
I read the designer called the First Lady's matching coat and dress "lemongrass" but I like mimosa, too!
Cheers!
