Manic Monday

Mo's word for today is CANDLE

I thought this was a beautiful picture of a candle decoration for Manic Monday.

Here's a poem that I've always loved:
My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends -
It gives a lovely light.
Edna St. Vincent Millay, "A Few Figs from Thistles", 1920
US poet (1892 - 1950)

That's always been one of my favorite poems! Thanks for the reminder, hadn't thought about it in a long time! And what a beautiful picture!

Candles are my very favorite, they just make me feel cozy.

I almost used the Millay and then opted for the song. We do seem to have tandem brains. Hope your holidays are very bright, your candles are lovely.

Beautiful shot.
The word candle always remind me of the song for Princess Diana Candle in the wind :)

Have a good week ahead my dear Mary :)

Pretty photo of the candles, Mary. I love to have candles around to create atmosphere.
As I mentioned last week, Ralph and I went jar candle shopping.
We're an exciting duo, aren't we?

have a good Monday!

At first glance, I thought it was a Ruby Tuesday post.

It's Tuesday over in Singapore. :)

Nice photo choice for candle, Mary, and the poem is perfect. I believe you probably do burn the candle at both ends!

I remember well burning the candle at both ends in my youth - although at times the memories are sketchy ;-)

Hope your Monday wasn't too manic.

Ah, Millay! She was a wild child. I love her poetry.

That's a wonderful photo, too.
