*Homonym Humor

A homonym is word that sounds like another word but has a different meaning.

1. He who jumps off a bridge in Paris is in Seine.

2. A man's home is his castle, in a manor of speaking.

3. Dijon vu - the same mustard as before.

4. Practice safe eating - always use condiments.

5. Shotgun wedding: A case of wife or death.

6. A man needs a mistress just to break the monogamy.

7. A hangover is the wrath of grapes.

8. Dancing cheek-to-cheek is really a form of floor play.

9. Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?

10. Reading while sunbathing makes you well red.

11. When two egoists meet, it's an I for an I.

12. A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two tired.

13. Definition of a will: A dead give away.

These are wonderful. I will have to remember to share them with OC when he gets home. Shortly after we moved here, neither of us used to the intense heat or working/playing in it all day, OC and I got home from a wonderful beach outing and both realized as the car came to a stop, that we now had to climb to the third floor. We groaned in unison.

I said, "I'm too tired!" OC promptly responded, "Bicycle or motorcycle?" It took me a moment to comprehend the question, then I replied, "Doesn't matter. The tires are flat anyway."

Have you ever heard of Spoonerisms? I believe Spooner was a college professor known for switching phrases and syllables, such as, "It is kisstomery to cuss the bride."
