Ruby (Red) Tuesday

Here are my offerings for Ruby Tuesday.

Here's a sweet keyring sent to me by a wonderful blogger friend who lives far away from the United States. She's a dear friend and an excellent photographer. I carry the keyring along with my keys every day. Notice my "panic" button on my car doohicky is red.

Here are some strawberries that looked good in my supermarket this week.

"Louis" is all over those strawberries! Monterey Market, which specializes in produce, and is near chez la Vache has has the sweetest strawberries "Louis" has seen in years. No sugar needed!

Re "Louis's" exploits with the Vespa brigade - "Louis" must admit that all of those shots were taken while he was at the wheel of his Vachemobile - and the car was moving! "Louis" was casting a nervous eye out for the police - and other motorists! Those Vespas were just moving too fast for "Louis" to stop!

"Teach", thank you for stopping by "Louis's" post about the Packard Caribbean. The mileage is better than 4 mpg - but not by much! If you kept the lead out of your foot, you actually could get almost 20 mpg. Nonetheless, a fill-up today would cost $100!

You mentioned cruising the countryside in one a Caribbean - they excelled at this. Rather than springs on the wheels, the suspension was two 13' long torsion bars, one on each side, each connected to a front and rear wheel. The torsion bars were connected to a leveling system. These cars are incredibly smooth and amazingly agile (especially considering their size and weight). The '55 and '56 Packards equipped with Torsion-Level suspension were the best-handling cars of their day - and many modern cars are neither as smooth nor agile.

OK, Teach. "Louis" is finished with his term paper on Packards now! :-)

I don't participate in Ruby Tuesday...maybe I should, as I love rubies! [kidding]

Anyway, I loved reading this, it's great having long distance blogging friends, isn't it? Cute, cute key ring gifts. AND I love the word 'doohicky'. I thought I was the only one left on this planet that used that word often.

Oh....and, wait till you 'hear' what I bought myself. It's going to be my show n tell this week...I hope. [That's on Friday. IF I can get the post done in time. We're having carpets shampooed this week, so who knows if I'll get back into the computer room.]

Have a super happy Tuesday.
