Oh, what a sad sight. I've been following the news about the fires for days. It seems like they are endless. :-{

Incredible images. I cannot believe this is all happening.

Happy WW from San Diego.

Powerful photos. Scary stuff going on out in California. I've heard a lot of people invoke climate change to explain the increase in fires in the West. I'm not smart enough to know whether they are right but it's something to think about.

This is hard to comment on...

Even on the other side of he world (the netherlands, actually), I can sense the sadness, the fear, the uncertainty of what might happen..

And yet, my eyes are telling my brain what beautiful pictures these are. Saddening, unreal. And beautiful. (=life?)

Jos, thanks for visiting both my blogs and from so far away...Ha! Yes, my nephew is out in California where the fires are and he's been evacuated. They are talking 500,000 evacuees! Can you imagine? It's terrible!

Chris, I don't think it's global warming. California has been subjected to the Santa Ana winds for just about forever. The winds fuel small sparks of fire (from cigarettes) or small fires and Poof! a conflagration. It's terrible.
