The report Impacts for Title V. Section 510, Abstinence Education Programs: Final Report, found that abstinence education had absolutely no impact on sexual behavior of children.
This was a Bush administration federal program.

The fact that sex education is being used as a political tool to assuage a certain important demographic group within the Republican Party needs to be made clear as Congress considers reauthorizing the funding this year.
