During recent patrols, American armed forces medics have been asked to treat Afghan children with, not only infected cuts and persistent colds, but also retardation, blindness, autism, deafness and epilepsy. Much of what the medics see is beyond their reach. The Canadian Forces medics and other personnel are also helping the Afghan people. Too often, the media only report on the engagements with the Taliban, and not on the good work that the members of the NATO Forces do over there.
