SCROLL DOWN FOR MY NEW YEAR'S PREDICTIONS FOR 2008
Mo's word for Manic Monday is KEY
After some thought, I came up with the word KEYSTONE. curves under. A KEYSTONE is the architectural piece at the summit of a vault or arch, regarded as holding the other pieces in place.
This diagram shows how the KEYSTONE helps hold up the sections of the arch. The keystone is also called the Keystone Boss.
You can see how the KEYSTONE curves under the arch.
Very often the KEYSTONE was sculpted or decorated.
Female face carved in the KEYSTONE is complemented on the opposite left by male face (Charles Goodyear House)
Vault KEYSTONE in the church of the Virgin Mary in Chełmno, Poland
This KEYSTONE and arch is used to decorate a mail box.
This is called an S KEYSTONE.
KEYSTONES along the Grand Canal, Venice Italy.
KEYSTONE can also refer to "keystone sack" which is baseball slang for second base.
And then there's always the KEYSTONE KOPS.

I've always loved architecture. Must be one reason I'm always building stuff with LEGO bricks. :)
Happy MM!
