I've been thinking about creating a new meme.
What do you think about a "Fascinating Book Covers" meme?
We would post interesting, unusual, yet real book covers that we find on the internet or at home or at the book store. The book cover could be unusual because of the title of the book or because of the publisher's design.
We could then post what the book is about and why we chose the particular book cover and/or why the publisher decided to choose such a design.
So whaddya think. Do ya like the idea?
"Brilliantly synthesizing philosophy, literature, science, memoir, and his own detective work, Eating Animals explores the many stories we use to justify our eating habits—folklore and pop culture, family traditions and national myth, apparent facts and inherent fictions—and how such tales can lull us into a brutal forgetting."
I picked this book cover because I couldn't figure out what the publisher had in mind in surrounding all the words with various fur, vines and leaves. Ah, now that I type it out I know what the publlisher had in mind: animals and vegetables, right? The book is about, after all, why we eat what we eat. I wonder if Johnathan Foer liked the cover?
I think just the cover, if I look at it long enough, could keep me from eating animals ever again.
I will put up a Mr. Linky in case a few of you who visit want to sign in...
I will post this meme on Friday for Saturday.

Hi friend! great to visit you! You post the most amazing things. I am always happy when I come over to your blog. Happy weekend to you! Anne
Book cover like any marketing tool is what catches the 'eye' first to make the consumer pick it up --that and a catchy title,
Now (sigh) for decorating so many people are ripping the book apart to expose the spine of the book or make the cover bland white.
cheers,
