Sometimes the simplest things throw a really good shadow, right! I thought this fire escape on the front of this building in Bayside, NY did just that! See the window to the left? I posted that last week.
Go visit Tracy to see her gallery of shadows and her own great post!

That looks like bright light on an fall day, so satisfying.
Have you ever climbed up or down one, Mary? I don't think I ever have and I don't see them much anymore.
What a fabulous building to photograph - from any angle. I love the simplicity of your shot.
The fire escapes are functional, certainly not stylish in steel. The shadows, on the other hand, are delicate, light and not as clunky looking as the main subject. I remember these escapes from when we lived on 42nd Avenue in Bayside. A nice capture!
This is a beautiful house mary and like the shadows too, adds more life.
The shadow-ladder—
not the one to take if flames

My Shadow Shot
Hi Mary! I love the crisp, clear shadow on what had to be a beautiful fall day! Marvelous building, too! Terrific shot!
Enjoy your day!

Wow..the shadows of those lines are amazing, Mary! I like it!
I love the way the shadows of the fire escapes are superimposed on the lines of the brick. So much to take in.
What an excellent shot!

What a great array of shadows!
The landing shadows are very prominent but I love the more subtle side shadow!

Nice combination of patterns! Lovely.
love the brick work on this building...and the fire escape does provide nice shadow lines.
What a wonderful old building and the old bones of the fire escape really pop into view!
You've got such and eye Mary. I love this :) Simple but so eye pleasing :)
Remembering to look up with the camera leads us to some marvelous views doesn't it. Love the shadows of the fire escape you've captured here.
Hugs and blessings,

it looks so frail and the windows!
oh...i love it and the shadows you found too.
you even caught the details of the fan and the air conditioner in the white ruffled curtained windows where the fire escape stairs are reflecting too.
