Think Green Thursday

Photobucket

Today I'll share with you a THINK GREEN THURSDAY post. The message is to bathe together. Save money on water! So how about that as a way to save? Do you think anything's wrong with it?

Children and their parents, young siblings, children and pets. Now of course there is a question about when should they stop... Or should they every start?

Let me know in the comments if you have an opinion.

Hey Mary! When my daughter was an infant I read an article about how great it was to shower with your child. The first time I tried I almost dropped her -- those baby skins are slippery! And then I couldn't figure out how to wash my hair and body AND still hold onto her. I decided I was wasting too much water on this idea and abandoned it. The tub was a deterrent because I didn't want to be in the bath with a non-potty trained baby! Good idea in theory...in the old days, the youngest child got the last dip in the tub of water that everyone else had already used. It was cold and icky.

We always shared tub time with our kids during their first year. It was splish splash fun. By two they were on their own, with one parent always hovering by the tub, of course. I personally think tub sharing is all part of the bonding process but like all things, it can be overdone.

I'm torn on this one really. I don't know when the right time is that you can't shower/bathe with your siblings or parents. But I don't think it should be too old. Gives me some food for thought I will say :)

My daughters shared the tub until they couldn't stand each other any longer! Then there was the minor 'pooping' factor that would send one or the other sca-reeeming around the house wet & naked. Good times!
p.s. hope you're feeling better :O)

My two kids bathed together when they were younger. We stopped when their differing ages became an issue as one started wanting a more no frills experience and the other wanted 8,657,392 bath toys in with her.

Well, showering together does have its advantages. However I don't think conservation is one of them, if you get my drift.

Heheheheheheeee
