Ta-Nehisi writes:Perhaps this means nothing but I feel that I should acknowledge that a black man was killed on guard duty at the Holocaust museum. That may mean nothing. But I think it should be said. No, it means something. More than something, in fact. The great tragedy of the rift between blacks and Jews is that while we waste time arguing with each other, our common enemy -- racialist fascism -- goes unfought. Add Stephen Tyrone Johns to the group that includes Schwerner, Chaney, and Goodman. All were victims of the same sick ideology. ~Jeffrey Goldberg

Such a sad story...
Such a brave man
Something else meaningful and thought provoking - the white supremacist male was transported by lifesaving paramedics, all of whom appeared to be black.
I don't care what color the guard was. He was a true hero and this was an act of terrorism by an old fool. I have no tolerance for bigots and our world is so full of them it disgusts me. Then you read what Annie posted, written by some one or said by some one in the journalism/news field I'm sure and they have to bring the color of the skin into it. It's sickening to me.
Rest in Peace Stephen Tyrone Johns. You are a true American Hero. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your young 11 year old son and the rest of your family. Aloha my friend :)
I honestly have never understood people's obsession with skin color and race. I happen to be black and if there is a "rift" between blacks and jews I never heard about it.
Infact I have admired Israel and the jewish people for as long as I can remember. I find this article a little odd to be honest. Did the reporter expect the "black man" to do nothing or run away?
Wonderful comment James...Love it
I am thinking that the security guard, Mr. Stephen Tyrone Johns, was doing his job and not thinking about any of this.. nevertheless, it is important that we do.
Mr. Johns is a true hero.
Thom and James said it far better than I.
