Think Green Thursday #2

Think Green Thursday is a brand new meme by Gina, aka Pagan Sphinx.

Here are the rules (which may evolve over time)

1) The prominent color of your photograph does NOT have to be green. This is not so much a color-based meme (though it can be) but one where people focus on the concept of environmental awareness, renewable energy and protecting natural spaces, animals and their habitats.

2) You do not have to limit yourself to posting photographs. You may include other images that get your point across, links to articles or websites that are relevant to the theme, poems, art - you name it. You can be creative.

3) Please link back to the Think Green Thursday blog.

"Except during the nine months before he draws his first breath, no man manages his affairs as well as a tree does."

--George Bernard Shaw

Our generation is not the first to contemplate the effects of the human race on the planet. Native Americans, Buddhists, African tribes and the Celts are just a few examples of ancient cultures whose relationships to their environments were intertwined with their relationships to themselves and to their gods.

The following are some starting points to consider in looking at the *environmental health of our Earth.

Ancient Forests

Astronomy

Birds

Headwaters Forest

Hemp

Kelp

Organic Farming

Rivers

Solar Heat

Trout

Wildlife

An oldie but goodie:
I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree.

A most interesting post! Amazing symbolism in the photo. Long after we may be gone, the tree doggedyly lives on! The photo complements your tree quote beautifully!

I love trees, so resilient, so brave, so calm in the face of all around them

It is breaking my heart that more and more of my neighbors are cutting trees down

I have asked our township council to address this at the next meeting
