There is a little corner of me that finds a thrill in the nostalgia of older city buildings. And pictures like this find that little corner of me that misses the BIG city.
Good shot. I looked over at your sidebar-- love the tulips. Alas, the ones in my front yard aren't growing yet either. I'm starting to get worried, but I guess I need to be patient.
That's what I love about New York - you can find these wonderful little scenes. Don't know if I'd want to walk down those fire escapes with flames shooting out of the building, though. Cowardy me would wait for the nice fireman and his ladder.
I love this shot!!! Fire escapes are not a common sight over here, or are beautiful old shady buildings such as these. Paz (Paz's New York Minute) often posts pics of fire escapes and cool New York Buildings which I enjoy looking at also. I'm envious of you guys. I want to live over there!
I like how the sun is making the rusty golden. Also how the shadows play along with the sun giving life to the brick buildings. The pale blue spring sky matches the blue curtains. Have a nice Palm Sunday. From Felisol

I love the sun on the fire escapes! Amazing how artistic Mother Nature is and smart we are to recognize her -- wherever she turns up! Great shots!
Definitely cool shadow play, neat old buildings...luv your header!
You could have several stories of Romeos and Juliets wooing in those shadows.

Hey, I like the light on the fire escapes too. Cool shot!
Intriguing shadows I might not have noticed on my own, but then I'm not a New Yorker where fire escapes are common sights.
Hugs and blessings,

I've always wanted to climb one of those fire escapes but never had the opportunity.

I like the pharmacy sign too!
that light play is nice
This was the first thing I noticed in NY when I spent 3 days there, these outside fire ladders ! I had only seen this in movies before.
Oh I love that!!
Great shadows! Love the Bronx - we visit every year!
Interesting play of shadows all over those buildings with extra intrigue provided by the fire escapes!
