MANIC MONDAY - WARM Leatherette

I was looking for something to post for Mo's meme MANIC MONDAY when I stumbled across

WARM LEATHERETTE

a song that I've never heard before that captured my heart and my mind. Here is a video of Trent Reznor, Jeordie White, Peter Murphy and Atticus Ross ( who are these guys?) doing Warm Leatherette.

Mesmerizing, isn't it? Absolutely hypnotizing!

Here're the lyrics:

Lyrics | The Normal - Warm Leatherette lyrics

Hey Mo, I'm getting to be real COOL these days! Don'cha think?

Everybody go on over to Manic Monday to see the other participants.

You must have "blown" You Tube away with everyone listening because "an error" message and "try again later" is what I got... LOL

My brain must be set on "association overdrive". All I could think of with this one was the closing lines of "Twila Jo and the Wrestler" by Heather Miller ...

making Twila Jo squeal, and let go the wheel,
then a blue semi, FAYE'S EXPRESS,
flashy as foil,
flattening them both to a bloody blister,
the Myrtle Beach wrestler,
and her big sister.

No southern poet has ever made absolute tragedy more hilarious.

I was inlove with Trent Reznor back when I was a teen! And indeed hearing him now (I also went to youtube because of you!) brings back memories... *sigh*

This is the second piece of music I've visited today that I'd never heard before. I must have had a sheltered life in the UK :-)

That was weird. And even weirder was that I listened to the whole thing.

HA!

I'm fairly certain that this is the most unique post for today's theme.

I'd never heard this song before, either, Mary. Cool post for 'warm' - oh, and YOU are always cool in my book!
