Tisha from Crazy Working Mom hosts this meme on Fridays. Thank you Tisha. I thought the dark monuments against the beautiful blue skies made for a good photo for today!
You know Mary, when you make it big the dark foreground and bright blue sky really emphasize the one statue that is praying (I'm not sure if it's Jesus..)that's on top of the headstone. It's quite beautiful to me. I REALLY like it!
The beautiful sky adds joy to a place that sees more than its share of grief. A beautiful sky lets us know that a lovely day anywhere is a reminder of life, and the beauty in that!
I love exploring cemeteries. We don't have any real old ones out here, naturally, but I do adore the statuary. This is a really poignant shot. Speaks volumes! ~~~Blessings~~~
Beautiful sky above the cemetery, blowing away clouds of grief. Whispering to the ones left behind, it's time to wipe away those tears and let go with a smile. This is a sacred place to rest in peace... Get your own peace as well.
Hi Mary. The older cemeteries in Queens (e.g., St. John's in Maspeth/Middle Village) and Brooklyn have some awesome statuary in them. Never occurred to me to bring my camera, and now I don't live nearby any more. Thanks for the glimpse.
Mary, you got you a good one here. Thank you. I really wasn't looking at the sky when I viewed this but it wouldn't catch a second look if it weren't for that unnoticed pretty sky in the background.
Thank you too, ♥ Kathy. I wasn't going to look at the larger size until you mentioned the praying figure. I am glad I did. ..

What a beautiful and wonderful picture. This is outstanding Mary.
The varied shapes of the monuments look great with a blue sky/ white cloud backdrop.

I love the depth of this photo, and the play of light and shadow.

the dark and the blue sky do compliment each other in a wonderful way!
beautiful photo--the contrast of the dark heavy stone and the bright blue sky--great!
Oh Mary - I LOVE this!!! This is a fantastic photo with the colors, composition, and perspective! AWESOME - it's perfect!
I suppose it's a cimetary ?
Cemeteries are fascinating places ... and the sky and those headstones are a really good contrast ...

I love the perspective on these large monuments that you caught against the blue sky.
