A very ominous sky this afternoon was swallowing up a bright sunny sky as I was on the way home from teaching. Do you see that little black dot way up in the sky? It's a plane. I think if you embiggen you'll get a slightly better picture of it.

I detest flying anyway, but to fly when the sky looks like this is an horrific experience for me.
What a great picture Mary. I really should look into this meme. I actually posted pics of the sky today along with a thank you to you for my bookmarks :D
The sky has been a rather unstable creature today. She is raining, snowing, sleeting, blowing....Name it. Maybe the sky has a cold.
Your post is great.
Its a bird its a plane its superman!
Really great photo, Mary! Thanks for sharing them!
Ominous!
hi there, what a good shot of a bad sky.. Hope it gets better and give us enough sunshine..
Hope I can join too with your "looking at the Sky Friday.." so you'll see how our sky here looks like.. Thanks..
ominous indeed
At least the clouds waited till the end of the day to cover the sky!
ominous, yes....but oh so pretty!!
How's it been going for you? Good, I hope. It's nearly Spring here in our neck of the woods and I've been busy doing yard work...getting ready for the blossoms. LOL
Hope your weekend will treat you kindly.
I swear I wasn't sitting in the black dot ! What a scary sky !
I love looking at the contrasts between the light clouds and the dark clouds - it just gives the sky such a different dimension than just having one color of cloud in the sky.
Not exactly weather I would want to be flying into, though!
Ominous, indeed. It creates a very moody photo. Awesome!
oooooooooooooooooo nasty sky
It does look like you're in for a bit of bad weather, so I hope it brightens up for you over the weekend. :)
great perspective!!
I love ominous skies
If you took this in your part of Queens, perhaps that plane was climbing away from JFK, maybe...If the takeoffs are to the north from JFK (either Runway 31 or 4), we can watch them fly over our house near New Haven. I look for those kinds of things as I hear the jet roar overhead...
We've had lots of skies like this lately.
Hugs and blessings,
Oh, I do see "da plane da plane"! :) Great shot, Mary.
Thanks for playing along!
