Looking at the Sky on Friday

With all the wires and clutter of the 21st century, the sky still looks beautiful!

Hi, teach Mary,
Those sky pictures with the soft wintry light might as well be taken here.
Both dusk and dawn are so swiftly over, one's gotta be there to catch the moment.
I like the way you've done it.

These are beautiful photos and regardless of the lines, as you say, they do not take away that wonderful beauty. A very nice post!

Mmmm, love that beautiful golden-orange glow peeking out from behind the clouds!

I left you an explanation of "the Crawl" on Snowbird's blog.

The skies are really beautiful, it is a pity with all this cables in the air. We only have cables along the train rails and in stations but not in the city. Maybe on the countryside but I never really noticed it. Now you made me curious !

Quite some time now I try to convince myself that the wires and all the 21th century clutter, including the ever present cars, are just typical for this time period and that I have to accept that and not try to avoid it in my photos. So far I'm still struggling with it, even when I think that later people will look, with nostalgic feelings (? well, maybe), at our photos and say: well, well, look at that, that were the days that people used wires and cars (like we look back at the days of wagons and horses, or of the very first cars)

Gorgeous sunsets for LSF. I love the lighting you captured, Mary.

I know what you mean about the lines...they are everywhere!

It looks as though that puffy cloud is sitting atop the telephone pole.

I love it when the clouds are luminescent like that - you've captured some real loveliness there, Mary.

You're so right about that! Methinks the first is my favorite but they're both wonderful. My skies are clear and sunny at Happily Retired Gal and Sacred Ruminations Friday. TODAY the Santa Ana WINDS are gusting mightily ... AGAIN!
Hugs and blessings,
