Skywatch Friday

Here are 3 photos I took late in the afternoon yesterday, an overcast day. Before I could get my camera out of my bag (have camera will travel) the clouds that crossed the moon had moved away (#1) Then they moved back in and obscured the moon (#2) And finally, in the last shot, (#3) that little dot near the top is a helicopter flying east to west.

I know the shots aren't very clear. My camera is a Canon A710 with 6x zoom but I can't stop shooting the moon when I see it!

See other participants in Skywatch Friday here.

Really nice Teach!
I am glad that you always have your camera on hand.
I always have ever since I swiped my very first camera[at the age of 12] from Mom and Dad Golden... a square Browny 620.
I have very little success with moon pictures with my Sony digital.
These are really nice!!...love Terry

AH! So you caught the moon. I thought about it and then...er...forgot. The shots go very well with your new blog look. And that's some turkey on your banner. ;-)

The only things I belong to is Pilgrim Pals and I will let you just guess what the other one is.
It is a great bloggers site that involves tbe color red!!
It doesn't mean to say that I will not pop in here every so often Teach.. just to say Howdy,eh?..Love Terry

I like impressions such as these, with a grain in it and not very clear, not everything has to be photographically perfect to have significance.

Very eerie, but beautiful...happy SWF!

I took a bunch of photos yesterday afternoon when the moon rose and some sunset photos at the beach too, but I’ve yet to download & look at them. Hopefully at least some will be good enough to share. I keep shooting the moon with marginal results too. I do like the eerie quality of yours today and the 'kewl' turkey in your header too ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Between them, the clouds and the moon made some lovely pictures. And the helicopter added interest.

Mists and mellow fruitfulness - came to mind.

The blurring actually makes them quite spooky.

Isn't it odd to have the moon out in the afternoon? Very cool pictures. I'll be joining in this meme for the first time tomorrow! I took some great pics last Saturday just thinking about Skywatch.

Though the shots ain't clear. They're still good attempts of moon shots.
Happy Skywatch and have a great weekend Mary!

Nice shots. I can practically see the motions of the clouds.

Hi Mary, You've had better success that I, shooting the moon. I like your captures. I'm like you, always have my trusty point and shot with me.

Getting the moon to photograph well is always tricky for me but I keep doing it too! In fact I did one this week as well! Was a storm coming your way for it to be so dark in the afternoon?

My Sky Watch Photos are posted Here and Here

Wow, are you sure that's a helicopter? Looks like a little moon!

Mary, I'm just like you. I keep trying and sometimes I get lucky.
I was on the phone just this evening with my daughter and told her let me call you back, the moon, .... it was clouds over the moon and of course I didn't get it.
Santa better be bringing a new camera!
Hildegarde has the right idea!!
