What I really like about this shot is that it engages you. Makes you want to know who the person in the photo is. What's she doing? How did she come to be the subject of this shot? (What's her number?)... She comes across as a little shy (the lack of eye contact) but still hopeful (the smile). From a purely technical point of view, all the essential elements are there. It's well lit, well composed, with little extraneous information to distract you from the subject. And the B&W is appropriate for the mood. I don't think it would have been as effective in color. Overall, I'd be quite pleased if I were her!

Dianne and Jan, she's a lovely, talented hair stylist from my hair salon. Her name is Alma!
I think this is the perfect picture for Monochrome Monday on Wednesday-her hair and makeup just really make it. Very pretty!!
