Skywatch Friday

For Skywatch today I've posted the trip to my nephew's house to celebrate his son's 3rd birthday. It was last weekend and overcast and threatening to rain the whole way over.

The first shot is from the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway just after the Kosciusko Bridge. I took shots all along the way until we were about 500 feet before the Atlantic Ave exit which is where we get off for his house.

good progression sometimes those gray days are nice sometimes just to help us appreciate the sunny ones

Ahh my 2nd favourite city on earth. I love the last shot especially, look like the pier where we took our helicopter ride around Manhattan last time we were there. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

Rain is water, and water to the Chinese means luck and wealth :)
So I guess it pretty good if there's rain on a birthday...unless it's lawn party or something :)

Happy Friday Mary!!
....I'm suffering from insomnia..it's 330am now!! *lol*

Ah, the Kosciusko Bridge! That's where my husband always used to get lost every time we went to visit our friends. You bring back memories.

I love all of these shots - especially the first. It's a beauty.

Oh my these are magnificent. I am so new to this that I am always so amazed at everyone's work.

You did a wonderful job of capturing Manhattan...I can almost hear the rustling about and the cars honking.

Simply stunning!!

My post is here and very modest in comparison.

What a wonderful series Mary!
The overcast skies didn't bother me at all with all your wonderful views.

They built the expressways so you et a great view of the city skyline. All you need is a driver who can get in the best lane for a photo. My favorite is the Brooklyn Bridge.

Great shots. Gray days are not always fun but they do often make for some great photo ops.

Iconic New York photos made human with your narrative. I think of NYC as a destination; it's good to be reminded that it is also "home" for many people.
