Ruby Tuesday for Halloween

Dear blogger friends, I thought we might try a puzzle for our Ruby Tuesday for Halloween. Of course you should put up your great RED posts for today but I thought you might have some fun finding

SOMETHING UNUSUAL, SOMETHING THAT SHOULDN'T BE THERE

in the photo below:

Look carefully, very carefully. I took this photo recently in Brooklyn when I was walking along the sidewalk on a warm Sunday afternoon. When I looked carefully at the shot I saw something I never expected.

Feel free to embiggen the photo - it might help you find what I see...

Put your guesses in your comments AND when you sign Mr. Linky put an asterisk (*) after your name if you take a guess.

I'll announce who guessed correctly (I might need some help getting to everyone) by Thursday.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEXT WEEK, MAYBE YOU'D LIKE TO POST HALLOWEEEN DECORATIONS THAT HAVE SOME RED IN THEM? WHAT SAY YOU?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And finally here are some Autumn trees I photoed on the way upstate yesterday. There was plenty of RED to be seen:

Don't forget to visit other Ruby Tuesday participants.

They love to have visitors!

I think I need to look again. ;-) I can't find anything that shouldn't be there nor can I find Mr. Linky. ;-)

Mojo said...

Well... gargoyles are normally found on rooftops or cornices... not at ground level. But the rules are kind of flexible when decorating for a theme so I don't think that's it.

I couldn't find Mr, Linky either.

Pia K said...

I might spot a butterfly on the pumpkin-on-the-wall's nose, but I'm not sure...

I'll return with a RT-post/link later.

Is it the ghostly looking reflection in the windows?

Felisol said...

Dear teach Mary,
this was a tough one. We don't even celebrate Halloween...
In the barrel there are both white and red flower stalks..
Behind the barrel a laughing devil or garden gnome..Nothing red on him.
I am looking forward to see what should not bee there.
And how I am enjoying these Tuesdays:
Miss Mr. Linky though.

Ummm... Is it me? I don't see Mr. Linky to sign up for this week's post.

Wow... autumn is really here! I also couldn't find a thing. Maybe later.

My RT is posted here.

is it your reflection in the window? What a fun game.

EG CameraGirl said...

I can't tell, but I think the pumpkin has a carrot in its mouth, like a snowman might have for a nose. OR is it a cigar or cigarette?

maryt/theteach said...

FORGOT MY LINKIES! OH NO! THEY'RE UP NOW! If you get chance come back and sign in! If you don't get a chance don't worry... I'll read all your comments and your guesses. :)

Hmmmmm ...Is it the cat's nose on the pumpkin?

The gargoyle on the side? I don't know...

Hi Mary - I'm going with the weirdo in the lower right corner of the photo. The rest of the photo is pretty. That guy is not!

Happy Ruby Tuesday Mary!!

Jim said...

Hi Mary, all these guesses are wrong by the rules. The answer is supposed to be told in a comment in their blog comments, not yours.

Then they are to leave an asterik. So far I am the only one who followed your rules.
[I almost didn't because I had my answer in a deleted comment here!
But it is in my blog now.

It looks as if the Jack O'Lantern is chomping on a carrot, instead of a cigar that might not be allowed due to anti-smoking laws in place...

It may be my imagination ... but methinks I see a tiny witch's head on the end of the bench ... just to the left of the large pot. Mine will be up in a few minutes & I'll return to sign the Mr. Linky as soon as it's published at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,

A lot of people don't plan vegetables in their flower pots but some do. It is a good place to grow kale.

I want to tell storyteller, that she's got a good eye, but what she saw (a witch at the end of the bench) is not what I saw. But that's an excellent guess! I'm not saying yet if anyone has guess correctly! :)

Jim said...

There are two little white dogs playing on the bench, over by the gargoyle devil.

I found it! I found it!

Is it the sort of lavender wading pond on the right in back of the bench?

I've posted red leaves. They may be trite, but I love them so much. Thanks for the opportunity to show them off.

I can't find anything unusual in this decoration. Apparently everything looks normal to me, lol !
Good idea for next week ! Would be fun to see all Halloween decorations !

Oh yes now I can see it ! it's a flee on the pumpkin !

I have no idea. So sorry.

The gargoyle looks a bit out of place to me. I've never seen a lack-o-lantern placed so high. I love all the colors and textures in this photo. Happy RT!:)

I can't figure out what doesn't belong. I know that Gargoyle looks spooky though. I have a little one on my patio right now. I will put my decorations up and share them for next week.

Happy Ruby Tuesday to you!!

Dear Mary...
It is almost 3:30 in the morning.
We had such two busy days of Canadian Thanksgiving and I will be busy all day tomorrow so I kind of put my Ruby Tuesday in a little early.
I see that you have captured so many red autumn leafed trees.
I wanted to so bad myself, but my little great nephew had different plans for me.
Oh well, as our leaves are only about 20 per cent turned, I just might have another chance to take pictures of them for next Ruby Tuesday..
Three cheers for Mary T and her Ruby Tuesdays......Thanks!....Love Terry

Robin said...

Nope, couldn't find it, unless it's that strange smooth-looking plastic in the back right corner at the bottom. No idea.

Beautiful foliage shots.

Anonymous said...

Oh, I forgot to put the asterisk behind my linky. Love the Halloween decoration. Is there a ghost behind the window????

My fall photo is posted. Your leaf-pictures are beautiful, Mary. The change of leaves is my favorite part of "Herbst" as we say here.

I'll try my very best to come up with a decoration photo for next week, but as far as I can remember most of my decoration comes in white (skellys), black (bats and spiders) or orange.

Anonymous said...

I see the carrot - we don't celebrate Halloween, so I didn't pick up on it (Snowy the Orange Pumpkin - easy mistake...) I also see stem # 2 in the pot/barrel in the front - it's all white and shiny, and almost identical to the red one in the front - a ghost plant??? Spooky...
Not playing Ruby Tuesday, but I got all enthralled by the guessing game... Maybe I should Join Ruby Tuesday before the world turns grey. First frost today!

Gemma Wiseman said...

I'm going to guess on my blog, but as we don't really celebrate Halloween here, I could be way out!

Gemma Wiseman said...

My asterisk didn't appear in Mr Linky! O well!

Could it be that stone monkey in the right corner? Is that a gargoyle? A devil?

nope... couldn't see anything unusual. that little grinning gargoyle (?) on the far right below isn't that unusual, though. he's there for the halloween, i guess. the only thing usual i see is an airconditioner when it's Fall!

The pumpkin on the wall looks like he has a cigar in him mouth.

maryt/theteach said...

Gattina, you make me laugh! Everybody, the gargoyle might be odd but don't you think it belongs in this Halloween decoration? Can you see the deet of another one in the upper left hand corner. That's not the "strange and unusual thing" though that I see... HA! Thanks for participating!

Don't forget to come back late tomorrow or Thursday morning/afternoon for the big announcement about who guessed correctly!

Maddy said...

I assume it's the gargoyle but it's not red, so now I'm not sure.

I'll try and get my act together to join in next week as I missed the boat today.
