I have been so glad people have been participating in Ruby Tuesday with such enthusiasm. I'm still going to try to visit everyone who participates but it is getting harder with so may posts to get to.
What's really important is that when you put up a Ruby Tuesday post to come here and sign into Mr. Linky AND make a comment. AND then go and visit the other people on the Mr. Linky list.
You know we all love visitors and comments.
You can have your own Mr. Linky list by going to Mr. Linky
Today I have RED photos of the Nassau County Firefighters Museum & Education Center.
The Nassau County (L.I.)Firefighters Museum and Education Center is a nearly 10,000 square foot interactive facility where individuals, families and groups can experience first-hand the proud tradition of firefighting in our communities . Visitors can also trace the history of firefighting in Nassau County with hands-on exhibits that feature antique and contemporary fire apparatus and gear.
People of all ages will enjoy the interactive gallery that is as informative as it is fun… Call 911, Crawl Low in Smoke, Stop-Drop-Roll, Home Escape Planning and much more! It's an opportunity to learn how to protect yourself, your family and their property from fires, burns and other common household hazards.
Although this looks very real, it isn't!

I love firehouse museums. You have done yours up wonderfully!
Thank you, I'm putting yours on my list of must sees next time we come to NYC.
..
My son and his friend are sitting next to me singing "stop drop 'n roll, stop drop 'n roll, that's what you do in a fire, stop drop 'n roll".
This museum looks a little more exciting than the show our firehouse puts on every year (especially the "fake" fire), but I can't get them interested. A little too old for the firehouse stuff. I bet my husband would enjoy. He's a kid at heart.
This looks like an interesting museum, Mary.
One of the fire companies in our town has a restored pumper that was pulled by manly men in the late 1800s.
I've got a trifecta working. Ruby Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday and Thematic Photographic all in one shot:
This one
Fire trucks bring out the kid in all of us. Wonderful museum, and in our small town will have a local fire museum next year - no interactive, but lots of old fire trucks through the ages.
Traditional red is the best color for fire trucks - even if the yellow-green trucks are more visible!
I driven by this place before. Thanks for taking me inside.
I have a scarlet edged white begonia this week.
Have a nice Ruby Tuesday!
I LOVE these photos.
Mine in kind of fire related this week.
I haven't done mine yet as it's very much still Monday around here. Glad you mentioned that the fire wasn't real because it certainly looks real to me!
Cheers
This museum seem lots of fun with lots to view.
Lots of red too!!
Happy Ruby Tuesday Mary~~
Having a dad and brother as firefighters, I feel like I could narrate a walk through of one of these places.
Great shots.
Very interesting, a great experience to participate in these simulations, a Ruby educational and informative.
hugs, Denise
What a nice museum! The firefighters are heroes in their own rights, and it nice that they get acknowledged!
Perfect Ruby museum for Tuesday!! Great ruby tour Mary!
This looks like a wonderful place for a family visit to learn safety essentials while at the same time visiting with some real hands on history lessons. Really red too :-)
WOW! Very cool photos, Mary (uhm... I guess "hot" is the better choice here *g*)
My entry for this week is dedicated to Frank - my hubs celebrates his 42nd birthday today =)
When I read Nassau County I thought of FL. Hubby has nephews who are firemen in FL.
Thanks for taking us on a tour of the museum.
This looks like a fun museum to visit. Kids of all ages are fascinated by firetrucks. ;-)

Now that is the place to go for some awesome Ruby Tuesday photos.
Wonderful Ruby post! Interesting and educational museum - what child doesn't enjoy the fire trucks! A good way to create awareness and have a plan to get out safe should there be a fire.
This reminds me of the Fire Museum we visited in WS.
Very cool photos! Those flames do look real!
It looks like there's a face in the fire! Great pics!
I especially like the old fire engine. Great photos!

That's a fantastic fire museum!
How cool! I love looking at antique vehicles. I wonder how well those old firetrucks worked against a 3 alarm fire.

I just love this, Mary! There's just something about an antique red car, truck or fire engine, isn't there?
I took some liberties today - I do hope you'll forgive me this once.
my first time here!
Wow ! very impressive pictures ! I remember when I was in New York we saw some of these trucks and we had never seen such big once before !
Wow Mary!
Let me start by saying that garage door is awesome!
I love seeing the old timey equipment. I'm just not so sure why the horse is YELLOW!
RT sure has grown - I'm sure it's because you are an awesome host!!
That's a bright red museum!! Hope none of us ever need the help of the firemen...!

This week a combination post of flowers and red. It's strange how red can become a point of attention once you know 'ruby tuesday'.
My grandfather was a firefighter...one of the most noble professions! Thanks for sharing the museum with us.
My God Mary, forgive me! I posted my Ruby way past midnight last night, hit the Mr Linky, went back to see if everything was looking good on my blog, and completely FORGOT TO COMMENT!!!! Sorry about that!!!
The fire brigade station is rtight around the corner from where I live, and they have a special weekend coming up in September I think. People are allowed to visit the station, to see old and vintage fire trucks, and all kinds of stuff on that weekend!
This is a great Ruby Mary!
What a fun museum! Isn't that fake fire amazing? I've seen it before and it really DOES look real!
Good morning Mary, I love all of your great red pictures today..I like fire
trucks to be painted red , better than the green/yellow colored ones. Come see my little chunky baby ....
How interesting! Lookes like a great place with lots of red!
I am so glad that my husband has modern equipment when they go to fight a fire. Interesting photos..
I definitely see red. That's a lot of it.
I'm joining for the first time. Hope you'd visit my entry.
Oh what a lovely post! Such lovely old fire engines (as we call them)
What WONDERFUL photos of RED at a Fire House museum ... very 'kewl' indeed. I've gotten my act together and posted my very 1st Ruby Tuesday at Small Reflections, but I'm off to my Advanced PSE6 class so I won't be visiting until later this afternoon and/or tomorrow. I love RED (almost as much as I love purple!
Hugs and blessings,
Ruby Smiley, for sale;)
Happy RT
Looks like a great museum. And you can't get much more red than fire trucks. I'm taking a day off from posting today... at least I think I am....
You have a hit on your hands, no doubt....
Great reds today.... I joined in
Nicely done, Teach. I love old fire engines.
You have tons of red today! They are wonderful. I don't think we have a fire museum here. That would be the place to find red stuff, except our firetrucks are white. I wonder why...that doesn't seem too good an idea. :)
I like the photos. Thanks for sharing :-)! My entry is up. Hope you'll like my flower this time.
I love museums but have never been to a firehouse one.. very interesting and great pics! Thanks for sharing! :)
My pics are up too.. not as ruby as they usually are, instead today it is all about the details.. :)

I put my Ruby Tuesday up on time, but I had to be away from home all day so I didn't link until now, trying to keep the influx of traffic low. This feature is becoming quite popular.
