Do the clouds copy the form of the breaking waves? Or is it vice-versa?

They do go hand in hand, don't they? It's such a peaceful, lovely scene.

Mary, how ever did you manage to get a beach shot without loads of people in New York? I love the shore, or at least I use to before they all got to built up and crowded.

The surf looks so-o-o inviting! I know the water is probably cold but my body feels so warm.

Hi Mary, I like your Skywatch Picture. I have a Skywatch picture for the weekend to sit on the PHOTO PLACE blog.
Did you go to creamation for that picture?
I've been slacking, but now I'm back a little bit. I missed the transition to your changing of the header picture from Coney Island to the end/beginning of the Subway from/to the train picture.

And I'm sorry, it isn't subway, my memory messed up.
It is the Water Sculpture. We have some of those in Houston.

I think they do. I have noticed this along treetops, too.

Mary, thanks for this image of the Sound. I love that body of water and haven't been all summer. I feel like I just received a postcard.

Ah, Robert Moses! Large portions of my misspent youth took place at Field 2, where every other blanket had a boom box blasting album-oriented rock from WBAB, and a vendor periodically schlepped through lugging a styrofoam cooler, yelling "ICE cold fudgie-wudgie bars!"

Thanks for the memories!

I know the tide is related to the sky, and I know that often waves and clouds match, a sign of God's symmetry at play maybe? Beautiful shot.

I'm not even watching the sky today, just mesmerized by the ocean :o)
Have a great weekend, teach!

The waves -- sky and sea -- are running the wrong way. With that tilt to the horizon, I imagine the sea is empty by now, anyway .... ;)

Seriously, I love the way the clouds and the wave foam looks the same. I think the clouds were mocking the sea.

cool beach! I love the waves and the clouds too...it mirrors each other, i guess.LOL.

I love the waves...our beaches here are calm. Seldom do I see a beach with such waves.

This is so relaxing. Love how you have captured the waves tumbling in on the sands.

Nice photo. I also like your tribute to Nelson Mandela.

My entry is here. Just some sunset photos after a very difficult day of travel.
