Seven Songs You're Into Right Now
Here are the rules:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what
the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any
good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping
your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with
your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what
they’re listening to.
Here are the seven songs I'm into at the moment (and for all time) with a brief reason why I like them:
"Imagine" by John Lennon. It's a song I'll play any chance I get. I wasn't listening too closely back then when he was alive and singing it, unfortunately. But today it speaks to my heart.
"Return to Me" by the October Project. From their first album, The October Project. I first heard this group on the sountrack from Blown Away, the movie. They have a Gaelic, plaintive sound.
"On My Own", by Michael McDonald, a 1986 duet with Patti Labelle. A sad, beautiful duet.
"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart. No notation necessary.
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Michael McDonald. Michael McDonald's gruff voice is wonderful to listen to.
"Tonight's the Night" by Rod Stewart. Another gruff voice that turns me on.
"Now I Lay Me Down" by the October Project. Haunting, like a prayer.
Now I have to tag 7 people. But I think I'll tag 2 people and anybody else who wants to do this. Remember you don't have to do this at all if you don't want to.
I think Vinny of The Big Leather Couch would do this.
And maybe Travis of Trav's Thoughts

What fun. On My Own is one of my favorites too. What voices those two have. Have a great day Teach. Big hug honey. :)
OOO Difficult one... But I will give it a shot...
Difficult because I am always shuffling my music ...and as I digitize the albums I am re-introducing myself to so much music...
Great taste in music! I have so many Rod Stewart CD's - his voice is gruff and sexy and at the same time.
I love everything you listed and know all but the October Project - I'm going to check that out.
Thanks for playing Mary!
What an eclectic mixture you have there. :)
The singer of Return To Me sorta sounds like Christine McVie.

I'm into doo wop music at the moment!
Thanks for the tag. I'm not really into anything specific at the moment, but I'll put this in the queue and give it some thought.
