Such a range... the joy of a wedding and the tragedy of a flood. We had similar flooding in my part of New York State last year... they call it a 500 year flood, which I gather is what they are calling the floods in Iowa and the midwest. I was lucky. I can't imagine the horror for people whose world gets washed away. For people here, I thought the lucky ones in some ways were the ones whose houses just got washed away. Easier than having it too ruined to fix.... Sorry. I'm rambling.
Oh, that's cool, a WW post featuring current events!
I felt bad about the floods. Same-sex weddings, not a problem at all. In fact, one of my ministers is married and they're looking into adoption right now. I couldn't think of anybody better or more suited to be parents than them.
Timely choices for today’s WW … so much is happening all over the USA (and the world) every day! I'm taking a moment to stop and experience the range of feelings evoked by these photos. Excellent 'wordless' post!
Mine’s up at Small Reflections this morning, but also shared some photos on my other blog at Sacred Ruminations this weekend on Sunday. Would love to have you visit either (or both) if time permits ;--) Hugs and blessings,
Those poor people who've been flooded out! :( This is why I'm a chicken and I live 40 minutes inland instead of ON Sanibel Island - I don't want that to be me someday!

ohh poor car... i have nothing against the same sex marriage, but its not allowed here in my country. happy ww! ^_^
Happiness in the first picture and then came 'OMG' for the second picture.
Happy Wednesday Mary :)
My response to both photos is wow. This country has come a long way as far as accepting same sex marriage, and the second what a horrible situation.
Happy and sad. Life is such a roller coaster.
Both ends of the spectrum.
wow, the floods are bad

Both very timely photos!
Happiness and sadness.
Hope you're having a HAPPY WW!
Same sex marriages we have already quite a while. How terrible this cathastrope in Iowa, I saw it on TV. I hope no Blogger is involved !
Interesting photos Mary!
If that's not a stretch of the imagination come to life, I don't know what is.
Happy WW!

My post...
Weee for California!
I think it is lovely that the first couple to wed in California was an octogenarian couple who've been together since the 1950's! You go, girls!
And wonder how long it will be before those flood-cars are hitting the used car lots in the rest of the country???
you know, i don't get wordless weds..ruby teusdays, thongleess thursdays, let see three miss spelled words
The flooding is just terrible. Horrible. I can't even imagine.

Hugs and blessings,
The first picture shows the joy that be found in the world...the second how nature can clobber us and cause heartache and sorrow.
Very nice juxtaposition Mary
Is this an extreme example of a swift segue in picture?
..
Wish more states would follow CA...
Can only hope for dry weather & lots of outreaching aid for the Midwest.
Great idea!
