Wordless Wednesday on Tuesday

Women bath at Varanasi in the Ganges
Maria Bartet (mariandrea)

Many people come to die here. They want to rest in this river. Daily you can see corpses being cremated by the river and then thrown into the water.

This wonderful image invites so many questions. What could they be talking about?

Other cultures seem to have such a healthier way to deal with the sadness of death. I have always admired Indian culture for this.

PS: I came for Cats on Tuesday and am SO glad I found this post.
