New Citizens

Via AOL News:

LOS ANGELES (May 23) - Record crowds of immigrants - more than 18,000 in all - took citizenship oaths here Thursday, a showing credited to rising fees, a heated debate over illegal immigration and one of the brand-new Americans raising their hands.

Nice to see some people still think it's worth it. My dad was so proud when he became a citizen.

Those are wonderful faces. When I think of the beautiful places that people leave behind to live in our cities and work at the worst jobs in the hope of achieving their dreams, I am humbled and awed.

That is wonderful! I'm so proud to be a citizen. If illegals want to be here they should work as hard as those who followed the rules to become a law abiding citizen of this amazing country.

That's a wonderful photograph. I hope all the new citizens will find this to be a land of opportunity. Sadly, it too often isn't.
