On April 30 Mexico celebrates Día del Niño, or Children’s Day. On that day the value of Mexican children is recognized. Nevertheless, not everything is happiness. On the streets of Tijuana there are many children who work very hard to be able to survive.

The Spanish translation is "Always the smile of an angel." :)
I'm curious to know if you are outside the continental U.S., since I'm still on Monday the 28th (at 7:00 PM), and I'm seeing a Tuesday post (for Wednesday).
Thanks for the scoop, Mary. Life is tough for kids in so many places. We need this reminder. God bless.
Great photo Mary, but it is to bad about those sweat shops.
If I could turn back time I'll rather remain as a child and forever celebrate children's day!!
Children's Day is celebrated on 1st October in Singapore :)
It certainly is a day to reflect on how many children are forced to work to survive, how many children die needlessly of treatable diseases, how many children never get to realise thier potential.
What a cutie! If I remember correctly, in Europe, June 1st is a Children's Day!
She looks so sweet and innocent.I hope she is able to stay that way all her life.
That is one beautiful smile. Such a sad story.

I think we need one of those here. Although my mom always used to say every day was kids day. Im not so sure about that
Nice they are celebrated...sorrowful they are in such need.
Hi Mary, this poor little angel looks happy. I can imagine the Tijuana environment for her, smile pretty, and you'd better bring home big pesos today or another beating for you, kid.
Happy WW/WT!
..
Those ladies were looking for their Bibles, none of theirs were found.
Riddle--and old, old one--was 'newspaper' for answer with 'read' misspelled purposely.
..
They should have children's day everyday! She looks so happy! My grandchildren have guitars too. Can she play well? Mine is up!
Yep, not just in Tijuana either. Have a great WW Teach. :)
That was nice to know about Children's Day in Mexico .
The little girl is such a pretty picture !
Thanks for stopping by :)
That's a great photograph for Children's Day . Childhood is not easy for so many. It is heartbreaking and yet important to remember.
so cute.... great shot for WW! mine's up too hope you can visit
What a precious photograph! I love it.
It breaks my heart to know how sad their precious lives are. You would never know it from this shot. Very nice Mary...Every year our City celebrates "Kid's Day" on April 29th. Today the Volunteers stood on street corners everywhere throughout the City of Buffalo and all the suburbs. They sell a Special Children's Edition of the City's Newspaper. The money is donated to Charities to help the children such as this one.
"Always the smile of an angel"
That is just beautiful.
Thank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Kimmie
