Mo has given us the word WANT for this Manic Monday.
Height is apparently more important than looks to women looking for Mr Right, the survey claims.
It seems women don't want their fella to be shorter than 178cms. (5ft 8")
And he should be cleanshaven, good-looking and drive a silver Mercedes. Which is fine, because he already makes more than $70,000 - another pre-requisite.
With blue eyes, short darkbrown hair and medium build, the ideal candidate would appear to be film star Jake Gyllenhaal, the UK's Daily Mail reports.
But looks aside, the perfect partner must also love pets, appreciate fine wine, theatres and nice restaurants.
Coupled with this he should have a "wacky" sense of humour, according to the study of 40,000 women by UKdating.com.
The precise check-list has been compiled from preferences entered by members of the dating website.
Also important is a university education, with many women specifying that they would like to meet a man with a BA degree.
Smokers and football fans were given the thumbs-down.
Only 1 per cent of women questioned would date a chap who hates pets.
Fortunately for imperfect men, however, not all women go for the Gyllenhaal ideal.
"Cuddly lovers" were favoured by 21 per cent, while 16 per cent would like to find a balding gent like Bruce Willis.

Just throw a pic of Dermot Mulroney up there, and that will cover it for me...or maybe just my man. He's killer kool too ;)
Okay, looking at your Mr. Right list, here's where I stand on it:
1. I'm 5'10" if I wear boots with heels (cowboy, heavy work boots, etc.) and don't slouch. Check.
2. Good looking. I can't wait until tomorrow. Why? Because I get better-looking every day. Seriously, if I could bottle and sell my good looks, I could retire early. Check.
3. 80 kg. Hmmm. That's foreign math. Let me see. *converting converting* I know it's 2.2 pounds to the kilogram, but I don't multiply anything less than whole numbers, so I'll round it up to 3 pounds. 80*3=240 pounds. Yep, I'm right there! Check.
4. Earns over $65,000. I have definitely earned over $65,000 in my lifetime. Maybe not all in one year, but let's not bandy semantics. Check.
5. Blue eyes. Got 'em. And they're dangerously melty. Check.
6. Short dark brown hair. My hair is dark brown, and it looks short because as it gets longer it curls tighter. Check.
7. Medium build. That's such a wide-open concept. Medium. Well, let's look at the opposite ends of the spectrum. On the one hand you have Daniel Day Lewis. On the other you have, say, John Goodman. I am definitely somewhere between these two. Check.
8. BA Degree. Yep. It's in a useless field, but I got one. Check.
9. Never been married. Well, I can't really claim to this one as my anniversary is this month. I'll take a mulligan here.
10. No children. I definitely do not want any more children. I've got three beautiful ones and that's plenty. Check.
11. Three serious relationships. I can juggle three girls at once, no problem. I'm suave like that. Check.
12. Clean-shaven. My cheeks are quite clean-shaven. The goatee is part of me (besides, I have a funny-looking chin). I'm going to claim this one as good enough. Check.
13. Drives a silver Mercedes. If I was in the market for a new car, this would be what I would buy. Check.
14. Enjoys cinema. Oh yes, I'm a movie guy. Check.
15. Likes eating out. I eat out like a champion. I also like going to restaurants. OH SNAP! Check.
16. Less than six sexual partners. Who do you think I am, Don Juan? I've never had more than two, and that was with a couple hours between them. LOL. Check.
17. Owns $655,000 home. Well...pass.
18. Doesn't smoke. I don't. And never did. Check.
19. Dislikes football. I dislike football...when my team is doing poorly. Fortunately there is always hockey. Check.
20. Likes pets. I love pets. I have a dog and two cats and there's nothing better than scratching behind my dog's ears or petting the pussies. Check.
18 out of 20, girls. The line forms to the left. Take a number and email me your contact info and a provocative picture. :D
Ian
Good luck on this one. Who are these demanding, unrealistic women? Yikes. What Ian said. Bwahahahahaha. Have a great MM Teach. :)
OMG, what a great post! I love it. :)
Happy MM.
Wow ! that was interesting. I would also choose the UK man, except he doesn't have to have a mercedes (don't like that car) and he can have had more lovers then 6, anyway it's not the quantity but the quality which counts !
I am all there for Jake and Bruce! Interesting study, I guess my honey has only one "glitch". He is a huge football fan :o)))
Happy MM!
Hmm, there are a few things on that list I'd want but not definitely require in a man. And yes, height has always made a difference to me. I don't know why but I've just never wanted to be a man who is shorter than me. I'm sure there's some sort of psychological reason behind that but I have no clue what it might be!
My list of what I want in a man is much shorter.
1.) A man of his word
2.) A man of His Word
Sounds simple, right? Not so much. Very few people actually put any value in "You have my word" anymore. Want proof? Attorneys and the Law: contracts and lawsuits. Even then, it's open to interpretaion and litigation.
Uh oh, do I sound slightly jaded?
Ian, you are Mr. Right in my book! :D
Everybody else, thanks for commenting! :)
Fortunately for me, I found a gal who likes most of the same things I like...and I like the things she likes.
Happy MM!
I like short men and beards.. but hubby doesn't like to grow his beard anymore because he says it makes him look too old and I'd rather have him clean shaven than some other bearded guy.
Oh... and he's not short. Really. Honest. I'm just tall.
My boyfriend for almost 5 years now is not 5'10", dozes off on our movie dates, doesn't drive a fancy car, looks nothing like Ethan Hawke, and is a far cry from the rock star I've always imagined I'd marry someday. But this one's MY geek and I wouldn't trade him for any other guy in the world. Well, maybe JUST Ian Thomas Healy, who I hear is a catch and a half. LOL
Awesome post, Teach. As always. ;)
Hey! I like this place! Thanks for visiting me!
Great post!
My mother and I have a book club and we decided to read Persausion this month. I love it so far. I even have essay questions I have to answer :)
