Wiretapping Violates Constitution


Kudos to the Judge who found last Friday that the Bush administration wiretapping program violates the US Constitution! Federal judge Anna Diggs Taylor found that the the "National Security Agency’s program to wiretap the international communications of some Americans without a court warrant violated the Constitution, and she ordered it shut down."

Unfortunately the Justice Department has filed an appeal and the wiretapping is allowed to go on for the time being. Read the whole article here.

Attorney General Gonzalez has argued that to get a warrant under the Foreign Intelligence Serveillance Act (FISA) "is cumbersome and does not provide the speed and agility necessary to fight terrorists threats today. Click here to see how the FISA process works.
